Perfect results start on white canvases. It all begins from nothing. This site showcases my artworks and curates a history of my growth. If you plan to follow, just remember my name, Vera Zhang — you'll find my footprints all over the site.

I didn't know what to write, but I had to start somewhere. Well, let me introduce how I got into the art world. I had a rare opportunity to try a top-class art therapy session. They asked me to draw with a pen, with my eyes closed. Music on, I did. Suddenly, my mind went blank, missing all connection with the outside world. Then a voice came in: "How do you feel?" It was my inner voice, but it came from a friend's care. Tears flowed down, dripping onto the paper — nobody had asked me that question for a long time. I started to pour out my emotions on the paper without knowing what I was drawing. When the music ended, my drawing ended. I opened my eyes — what a masterpiece! The instructor exclaimed, "Vera, look at what you have done!" I was shocked and suddenly understood the core of painting: to express your feelings on the paper. Thus I started painting, with no questions asked.

Then, year after year, I created many series — from refining technique to deepening topics — and gained collectors and agents. Then I stopped. Stopped to reflect on what I had done. I'm missing something in my map — a foundation that helps me touch the ground. And that's what I'm doing now, digging into a unique aesthetic practice. Hope you'll like the artist Vera Zhang V2.0.
